My biggest accomplishment and exciting moment was when I was tasked with creating my own blog.   And my most challenging moments were: ·          When the assignment was given to create a database and worksheet. This was because I had no experience using Excel and Access ·          When two assignments and forum works were due on the same date. HIPPA privacy rule, Protected Health Information (PHI), HIS regulations, telehealth, and HITECH act are some of the topics that were new and interesting to me. Because of this course my thinking and practices are beginning to change. For example, I’m more mindful of the way I used social media because of the knowledge I have that something that exist on a server is there forever.

Some of the lessons learned in the course are as follow: Informatics is the art and science of turning data into information and nursing informatics is the integration of nursing computer and information sciences to manage and communicate data knowledge, information, and wisdom into nursing practice. Unit 1 – technology is becoming an increase integral part of the healthcare delivery and nurses have pivotal role in this technology delivery and nursing informatics has become one of those key roles. Healthcare informatics has the potential to impact patient care and nursing practice. Unit 2 – The purpose of an information system is to provide information to the users.   People are the most important part of the system. Hardware consist of the devices that personnel use to input and access information in the system. Software provide directions to the hardware to tell it what to do. Biography  I am Rundeen Joseph a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse with NICU speciality and also a first year BSc Nursing student at the University of Southern Caribbean. I am currently the Nurse-in-charge of the Buxton Community Health Centre for the past 10 months. I was born on May 15, 1992 and hailed from a little village called Ithaca that is located on the West Bank of the continent Berbice in Guyana South America. Being the eldest of 6 siblings, I have learned to be a leader from a tender age.
